Humanistic motives sociology has developed significantly in the creation of an American professor, founder of the American Association for Humanistic Psychology Abraham Maelou (1908-1970). According to Maslow, the primary source and the motor behavior of the individual is to strive for self actualization, which is understood as a special, innate need for high humanoid creature of goodness and the continuous use of all opportunities, ability to accomplish its humanistic mission.
According to Maslow, self actualization is the highest need in the hierarchy of human needs, which includes the needs of the lowest order: 1) physiological needs (food, sex, etc.), and 2) the need for safety, and 3) the need for protection. Thus Maslow believed that needs a lower order will significantly intensify self actualization of the individual.
Developing the theory of self actualization, Maslow has significantly strengthened the arguments in favor of Mr. Allport primary deep and comprehensive study of mentally healthy people, rather than neurotic. In this respect, crucial situation Maslow was his assertion that the high demand for humanoid self actualization occurs only in healthy people, which makes its absence is a sign of neurosis. |
